The course starts with 3 days of physical and thechnical training program in a mountainous areas. The ascent of the Mont Blanc is done the last two days

Day 1 Morning: Practice ground for ice climbing at “La Mer de Glace”, beneath the “Dôme de Miage”.The guide will teach you all the tecnics to walk with crampons and the use of the axe. Afternoon: Initiation to rock climbing on the rock climbing wall of Servoz

Day 2 This day is to practice ice-climbing. After having passed the sequence of the « Mauvais Pas », you will evolve on the glacier of « Tré-la-Tête » (5 to 6 hours walking). We will arrive to the « Conscrits » refuge (2 700 m) where we will have a dinner and spend the night.

Day 3 Ascent to the needle of the « Bérangère » (3 425 m) or the « Mont Tondu » (3 196 m).

Day 4 Day off (if the weather cast is bad for the next days we might use this day for a hike).

Day 5 We leave Megève at 6.30 a.m. to Saint Gervais. The Mont-Blanc Tramway will drive us in an hour to the Nid d’Aigle where we will start our hike on a steep path that will lead us to Tête Rousse shelter (3 167 m) in 2 hours and a half. We use to have a lunch over there. The main route to l’Aiguille du Goûter goes across a gully and then follows a ridge. Fixed cables and artificial steels steps will help you to go through more difficult passages. We will walk around 5 or 6 hours long.Keeping a constent walking rythme on an irregular terrain and in altitude is the main difficulty at this stage. At the « Gouter » refuge, the dinner is served between 6 p.m and 7 p.m.

Day 6 We wake up at 2 o’clock in the morning. We use to leave as soon as possible after we had breakfast, as the place is very busy at this time of the day. All the way up to the top of the Mont Blanc is entirely done on a snowed terrain, rope up to the guide. The ascent to the « Dôme du Goûter » (4304 m) is a gentle uniform slope. A stop a the refuge Vallot (4362 m) is essential before going to the « Arête des Bosses » which will drive us to the top at 4810 m (4 to 5 h). We will walk aproximately 10 to 12 hours.

The ascent of the Mont-Blanc must be done by anyone fit.

The training period booking is essential
